I love this place. It also has great service amd fast orders.
love the history of Johnnie's and the food is good but the staff however can be hit or miss! i have had great service and I have had horrible service so it's hit or miss. Personally I can do without it simply because I choose not to be treated like a annoyance rather than a customer.
MoreOldest restaurant in Tupelo. Inexpensive, good food, fun service. And we got to sit in Elvis's favourite booth!
MoreI have always said I was going to stop in here and finally did. I am certainly glad I stopped, living in Tupelo these past two years I have gained more empathy in the realm of appreciation in small businesses. This establishment has been a staple in the area. When you first step in the door it is as if you have been transported into the past, the quaint seating is welcoming and comfortable like grandma's old kitchen. The service is prompt, friendly, professional.
MoreJohnnie's has great food. Oldest diner in Tupelo. Lots of Elvis pictures. Barbecue plate with baked beans and coleslaw was good.
MoreFriendly car service, and delicious old fashion burgers.
Coolest place ever! Waitress was awwsome took our photo in the elvis booth!
Had a great lunch at a sweet little dive in Tupelo. Staff was friendly. Food good and a kind local man paid for our meal!! Wow!!!
MoreFood was very good. Lots of history in this small restaurant. Wait staff was very friendly, and even offered to take our picture in the "Elvis booth"!
MoreGreat place. A dive and a family run business. Bring cash.
Well you just have to go! Cool little diner
Definitely eat here if you're in Tupelo, MS. You have to try the doe burger. Elvis Presley used to frequent here when he was young. It's the oldest restaurant in Tupelo, MS!
MoreFYI: No credit or debit cards accepted.Very good food, service and prices! Very cool nostalgic atmosphere! We got to sit in the booth that Elvis sat in when he was here in 1956. There is a picture on the wall above the booth showing Elvis sitting in the booth! Too cool! What a great experience! Will definitely return if back by this way in the future!
MoreOn a trip to Florida, I surprised my mom with a stop in Tupelo to see where Elvis was born. We decided to grab a bite to eat while in town. So where better than a place that the king himself ate? We sat in the Elvis booth (there's a photo of him sitting in that booth). I had a dough burger, which was delicious. The staff was very friendly as well.
MoreThe food is amazing, easily the best burgers in Tupelo. The dine-in portion is really cozy and the workers are very friendly
MoreThis was such a cute restaurant. We went there for breakfast. It was a dreary day outside, but inside the staff was friendly and the locals were just sitting and cutting up.This is a local joint... No more really needs to be said huh ;)This is a nice place if you like Elvis
MoreI hade an awesome stay here and the personal and burger was super nice! Sat down in the Elvis booth and I loved every minute!
MoreWonderful hamburger at this one time hang out for Elvis.
Excellent service excellent food
Good place to eat if you want to join a good fast meal hamburgers are good food is good it's all good
Moretook my g/f from Canada here...employee's were very friendly and food was great.
Came here last year while I visited Tupelo for some Elvis stuff. This dinner was known for having Elvis eat here as a kid. Food was really good, staff was friendly as well!
MoreGot to have dough burger ! Elvis booth, clocks, pictures, and memorabilia ! Do stop in
MoreGreat food, great service. Great prices
This place is small, quaint and was Elvis' hang out back in the day. The food is wonderful, big portions and cheap! And you HAVE to get a shake. The people are so nice.
MoreLobed this place so friendly
Stepping back in time when Elvis was a teenager. Sat in his booth. Food was great and so was the service. Just like the good ole days!
MoreI thoroughly enjoyed the food, decor, and friendly staff!! Met the owner, who I would sit down with for lunch any time.
MoreThis was a fabulous little find on our route from KC to Pensacola. Amanda's (Otis) service was top-notch, the dough burgers and BLTs were great, the onion rings were amazing, and the chicken strips were huge and flavorful. Try this! You won't be disappointed! Oh, and we were in and out with a party of five after waiting 3-4 mines for a table, on less than an hour!! Beware: one hole, unisex restroom.
MoreThis great little restaurant is really close to the house Elvis was born in and a place to get a quick burger and fries. You can get a 100% meat burger or you can get a doughboy burger which is meat, flour and water. And a coke. The owner greets you when you come in and the waitress makes you feel right at home. Decorated a la Elvis, this place claims to be the oldest restaurant in Tupelo. And it was also the favorite burger place for Elvis and his favorite booth is noted.
MoreThis establishment was recommended to us by a staff member at the Elvis birthplace. We were not disappointed. The food was fabulous. I highly recommend you stop by and grab a bite. The staff was friendly and attentive.
MoreGreat burger at johnnie's drive in last night .Good service and our car hop was so nice..

MoreFood is always good. Love the Elvis atmosphere. Waitress and Mr Knight always friendly.
MoreWow! Fantastic to eat in the original diner of Elvis and sat in his booth too. Great staff very friendly... went there got the t-shirt and had a great burger!
MoreBest cheap place I've ever been to. Food was good enough to fill the belly and staff was very sweet
More5 star experience! Actually got to sit in the Elvis booth! Classic drive-in fare, but the nostalgia knocks it out of the park!
MoreCar side service was great. Signature sandwich is the dough burger. (Half meat half flour mixture) A must try.
MoreLove it! They even have carhops
I stopped by because it looked very vintage and interesting. Turned out it was an Elvis hangout spot when he used to live in Tupelo. Good food.
MoreThe staff is always nice. Love the doeburgers. Great milkshakes. Cash only!!
This place is. Is the same building used back in the 60...still has. Some of the best food in town
MoreCash Only, no CC or DCards. It's OK. The service was very good. The servers are polite and attentive. The food, Quantity was plenty, Quality was OK. The pecan pie was heated in the microwave and was far toooo hot to eat and by the time it cooled it lost its tastiness. The BBQ plate was very good, worth the money.
MoreCASH ONLY. There is an atm across the street. Service is top notch. I opted for the dough burger because "when in Rome..." Skip it; it was good, but is not worth the extra calories and cholesterol. Overall good place.
MoreAside from the cultural significance of this place, the food here is amazingly priced, with amazing food to match.
MoreI'm giving this 4 stars for the friendly service and the history. I would not go back for the food. I you are in town though and doing the Elvis circuit then it is a must see stop. The young lady working was very friendly and answered our questions about the menu. She also took a picture of my family in the Elvis booth and offered for us to sign the guest book.
MoreI've been here for the first time and i would definitely go back everytime I'm traveling in that way. It's a great place to stop and eat, the staff is very nice , the food is wonderful and overall the place it's full of history.
MoreFantastic cheeseburgers, friendly staff
Exceeded expectations. Highly recommend. Craig and Christy are rock stars!
Food is good. As my son says, it's old school. Customer service is great! Seating is limited. Parking is limited as it is a drive in restaurant. Love the small town feel. Will be back every time I pass thru.
